  1. Download the IT Disaster Template (dr_template.txt) to your desktop.
  2. Open the template with a text editor.
  3. Complete the notice and save the new alert message text file to a location where you can retrieve it.
  4. Click the Edit Status link or point your  Web browser to:
    http://status.fhcrc.org
    and Click “Login” at the bottom of the screen.
  5. Enter <department> and <password> (i.e., "username" and "password").
    The Text Entry Screen will open.
  6. Enter “Alert” for the title.
  7. Open your alert message text.
  8. Copy the content of the message and paste into the body text window.
  9. Click Save as Draft.
  10. Contact the reviewing manager.

  11. The Reviewing manager points their web browser to:
    http://status.fhcrc.org
    The Fred Hutchinson Information Technology Disaster Recovery site will load.
  12. Click “Login” at the bottom of the screen.
  13. Enter <department> and <password> (i.e., "username" and "password").
    The WordPress view will display.
  14. Find “Your Drafts:” with a hyperlink to the current alert.
  15. Click on the content hyperlink.
  16. Review and edit the content.
  17. Click the “Publish” button under the body text field to publish the notice.
